Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy describes data handled by the VentureCast public website, waitlist, and authenticated private-beta app. VentureCast is a closed-beta creator-market platform. A creator identity in the catalog is not necessarily a public or tradable Market, and displaying an identity does not represent creator partnership, endorsement, sponsorship, authorization, approval, or participation.
Data currently collected
Website and waitlist. If you join the waitlist, VentureCast receives the email address you submit and related request information used to operate the form and protect it from abuse.
Account, authentication, and beta access. The app handles account name and email, internal user identifiers, password credentials in protected form where applicable, verification and recovery state, session and security-version records, linked Apple and Google sign-in identifiers and provider state, invite and beta-access state, Terms acceptance records, and referral attribution.
App and synthetic market activity. VentureCast handles Watchlist and onboarding state and other actions needed to provide the app. Product systems maintain synthetic balances, portfolio, order, fill, trade, transaction, ledger, Short position, collateral, borrow-capacity, risk, and audit records. These records concern VentureCast test units with no cash value. Production deposits, withdrawals, bank linking, payment processing, and real-money funding are off.
Referrals and Market Requests. Referral systems can handle a referral code, invite, inviter/invitee relationship, attribution, and qualification state. General referral rewards and cash rewards are off. Market Request systems preserve submitted request, vote, status, and account-linkage records when that workflow is available; the Production runtime does not currently expose new requests or upvotes.
Market Moments and public-source operations. The app displays human-approved Market Moments. Private operations process approved creator and source identifiers, public-source observations, evidence references, automation audits, and editorial candidates. Private evidence and operator-review material are not automatically published. Automated source ingestion and candidate generation operate with human approval required; automated publication is off. Creator/public-source operations are not user personal data unless a record also identifies a VentureCast user or operator.
Support, feedback, and diagnostics. If you send in-app feedback, VentureCast receives the category and free-form message you submit together with your account identifier and bounded context such as app version, build, platform, operating system, surface, and timestamp. Operational systems also produce request, error, security, and reliability logs that can include pseudonymous identifiers and transaction context.
How currently collected data is used
VentureCast uses current data to create and secure accounts; verify and recover password, Apple, and Google access; administer the invited beta; provide Watchlist, synthetic portfolio, Market, order, Short, referral, Market Moment, Market Request history, support, and account-closure functions; investigate errors and abuse; maintain service and record integrity; reconcile product state; and respond to support, privacy, security, and creator-content concerns. Current data is linked to an account when the function requires that linkage.
Current analytics and tracking
VentureCast does not currently have a product analytics provider, analytics SDK, or product-event collection program enabled. The app does not currently use data for advertising tracking. A future analytics program would require a separate privacy review and an update to this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before it is enabled.
Planned or future collection
Code paths and product plans for payments, deposits, withdrawals, payment identity or eligibility checks, additional creator-content workflows, competition analytics, and product analytics do not mean those categories are currently active. Before VentureCast enables a feature that materially changes data handling, the feature and its providers, purposes, access, retention, deletion treatment, and App Store disclosures must be reviewed and this policy updated where required.
Service providers and access
VentureCast uses service providers to host and operate the website, app, backend, email and authentication functions, public-source ingestion, beta distribution, and related infrastructure. Apple, Google, or an approved public-source provider receives or supplies information under its own terms when its service is used. VentureCast limits access to people and providers who need it for the functions described above. The current product does not sell app data or use it for cross-company advertising tracking.
Account closure and data requests
The app includes a Close Account flow. It reauthenticates the user, deactivates access, revokes sessions, and removes or tombstones specified account and linked-sign-in fields. Closure can be blocked while a balance, position, open order, pending transaction, short liability or reservation, unsettled short operation, or external financial-account review remains.
Closure is not wholesale deletion of every record. Terms acceptance, referral and invite attribution, support and Market Request history, synthetic balance and ledger, order, fill, trade, transaction, Short, security, admin, and audit records may remain to preserve record, security, abuse-prevention, and operational integrity. Some support, feedback, Market Request, and diagnostic records do not currently have a separate automated in-app deletion path. To request access, correction, deletion review, or help with closure, contact alex@joinventurecast.com. VentureCast will verify the request and explain the action available for the relevant data.
Retention
VentureCast does not apply one fixed retention period to every category. Data is retained according to the function it supports, account and security state, record-integrity needs, and applicable obligations. Session and action records can have their own expiry or revocation rules. Account identity is tombstoned on successful closure, while synthetic trading, ledger, Terms, referral, support, Market Request, security, and audit records can be retained. Private Market Moment source observations currently expire after 90 days and source webhook receipts after 7 days; published Moments, editorial candidates, and audit records follow their own operational treatment. VentureCast will update this policy when category-specific retention rules materially change.
Security
VentureCast uses access controls, encrypted network transport, session revocation, and operational safeguards intended to protect beta data. No system is guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, full payment credentials, or unnecessary financial details in feedback or email.
Policy updates
This policy may change as the beta, available Markets, providers, and data practices change. The effective date and version above identify this policy revision. Material data-practice changes must be reviewed before the related feature is enabled.
